  • Overview

    Allied Beverage Group, the leading distributor of wine and spirits in New Jersey, is looking for a Learning and Development Manager to join our team.

      

    In this position you will be responsible for imbedding, reinforcing, coaching the effective implementation and execution of training and development programs for all Allied Associates to ensure best in class execution.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include:

     

     

    • Lead, facilitate and evaluate training programs. Design and build modules that will increase Functional, Leadership and Brand/Category Capabilities.
    • Work closely with Director of Human Resources, Director of L&D to orientate, develop and retain best talent possible.
    • Work with management team to drive company training programs and ensure they are implemented and conducted throughout organization.
    • Conduct frequent one-on-one Field Training sessions with associates in the market place, especially with new associates that have joined the company.
    • Play key role in on boarding new sales associates. Work closely with Sales Directors, HR to create and implement an on boarding schedule for any new sales and marketing associate. Implement process that holds all new sales associates accountable for successfully completing Allied Selling.
    • Reinforce on a frequent basis through field work days that FSM are coaching reps to be accountable to Allied Selling.
    • Conduct quarterly round tables with Sales Management to provide feedback and brainstorm best practices.
    • Communicate with L&D team and all levels of associates to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training.

    Qualifications

     

    Skill and Experiences:

    • Live and demonstrate the Allied ways of working (values).
    • Live and demonstrate Allied Selling through out all divisions.
    • Live and demonstrate the functional and leadership training capabilities.
    • Strong sales background with solid understanding of company selling procedures.
    • Superior leadership capabilities with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.  Must be very comfortable presenting to an audience of Senior Management.
    • Excellent interpersonal relationship building/collaborative skills.
    • Solid organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
    • Ability to interact with people at various corporate levels.
    • Strong communication skills: verbal, listening and written.
    • Ability to seek out new ideas, exhibit initiative and be proactive.
    • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
    • 4+ years training experience in consumer package goods or similar industry
    • 4+ years’ experience in Sales Management (FSM, DM, SM, Director level) basic wine knowledge. 
    • Encouraged to work towards and obtain a minimum WSET Level 2.
    • Ability to present positive communication, facilitation and coaching skills
    • Superior coaching skills with knowledge of wine and spirit sales in both one premise and off premise environments.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Must hold valid driver’s license

    Physical Demands of Job:

    • Frequent hand motion with answering and dialing phones and computer work
    • Occasional carrying and lifting of 35 pounds to perform various office duties as assigned
    • Occasional immediate reaching to perform various office duties as assigned
    • Minimal overhead reaching to perform various office duties as assigned
    • Occasional standing for short amounts of time to perform various office duties
