  • Overview

    Allied Beverage Group is searching for a Whiskey Specialist to join our Sales & Marketing Team.  

    Responsibilities

    • Increase volume sales and distribution of Allied Beverage’s brown spirits portfolio through education internally and selling directly to accounts in the market. 
    • Manage a state-wide list of top on and off premise accounts, making new placements and managing allocated items.
    • Sell Allied beverage barrel programs off premise.
    • Stay on top of new and existing inventory, price book listings, diver issues and all other internal issues relating to brown spirits.
    • Guide company on all whiskey trends and new products entering the market in order to acquire new brands and improve company knowledge.
    • Working directly with top accounts, whether they are high volume on/off premise accounts or whiskey focused, small craft spirit/mixology bars.
    • Maintain contact with VP’s, directors, sales managers, and sales reps (every level) to aid in all matters regarding brown spirits, as well, to insure seamless communication of programs/goals.
    • Follow up on all meetings whether it is checking inventory on allocating items, creating a whiskey cocktail, gathering point-of-sale or setting dates for staff trainings.
    • Educating - Staff trainings at accounts or internally for Allied Beverage employees, tastings or dinners for accounts, creating programs for education (ex. creating a power point on selling American whiskey or writing up cards with whiskey information for a wait staff to use as cheat sheets).
    • Information and Suppliers - Be sure to stay in communication with suppliers on pricing and new products, as well, as promotions they may have going on or to set up account meetings.
    • Recruit and follow through with new whiskey brands that can improve Allied’s overall brown spirits portfolio and aid in gaining revenue.
    • Reading daily industry news updates, Google alerts, and all whiskey news.

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • Bachelor’s Degree – Sales/Marketing

    Preferred:

    • 3 years wine & spirits field experience
    • Experience with speaking to large groups of people in a professional setting
    • Sales Experience
    • Experience in the Spirits Industry, on or Off Premise (e.g., Restaurant manager, liquor store manager, bartender)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, Word
    • Advanced public speaking skills

    Environmental Conditions:

    • This position requires employee to be able to travel/drive to cover a large market and lift/move cases of full bottles. Employee must be flexible to work night and weekend events and taste adult beverages at special events.

    • Expansive knowledge of all Whiskey from around the World, how to taste whiskey, and how to educate consumers on Whiskey; Passion for continued education in the field of Whiskey; Excellent time management skills and ability to travel long distances across the state of New Jersey; Personable and extremely comfortable with public speaking.
